A trailer has been released for the upcoming Syberia 3. It is an adventure game created by Microids.
The Syberia Series
For those who aren’t familiar with the franchise, it’s actually kind of huge. Syberia was first launched in 2002 and received massive critical acclaim and was regularly cited as one of the games which helped to save the adventure genre when it was going through a rough patch. On the back of their success, Microids released a sequel two years later, aptly called Syberia 2. That too, whilst not quite hitting the height’s of its predecessor, achieved praise from critics and fans alike. Then the series was never heard from again.
Until now. We are now just a few days away from the release of the third game in the series. Any guesses to what it might possibly be called? Well I named it in the title of this post so if you managed to get it wrong I think you need some self-reflection. All jokes aside fans are eagerly anticipating what the third installment may contain.
A release trailer (embedded below) has been released by the games developer and I’m not sure what to make of it. On one hand, it comes from a successful franchise but on the other, it looks kind of PS2-ish. Maybe PS2 is harsh but the graphics certainly wouldn’t be out of place in an early PS3 game. Then again, if there’s anything that I’ve told every girl I have ever tried to date it’s this “Never judge a book by its ugly face” so I will give it a fair chance (although that doesn’t usually work for me).
Syberia 3 is scheduled to be released on 20th April for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
