Daily Deals – Old School Edition

On today’s daily deals we are looking at old classic games that have been later re-released on modern day games consoles or PCs. Let’s have a look at some of the bargains today that you can pick up and reminisce about how good some old school games were.

Bully: Scholarship Edition (£8)

Bully, in my opinion, was the best game that Rockstar have made. That may be a bold statement about a company who’s repertoire includes the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption franchises but I still believe it to be true. The fact that I was a young teenager when I played it probably added to the experience. Any game where I was in school and able to sneak into the girls shower would’ve got a 10/10 from me. Even years on though it’s still a great game, a little cheesy at times yes, but great nonetheless and for £8 you can’t go wrong in buying it.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 (£18)

Slightly more expensive but definitely worth every penny is Final Fantasy X and X-2. This might be an unpopular opinion but I believe that Final Fantasy X is the best game in the series. Most people would argue that VI or VII were but my theory is that whichever FF game you play first it will become your favourite in the series. For me, my first was FFX. There was over 100 hours of game play in X alone but adding X-2 to the equation as well makes this a steal. Coupled with the fact that it has also been HD remastered makes the graphics passable even by modern standards and the cut-scenes are superb.

PQube Mega Drive/ Genesis (£58)

The first games console that I remember owning was the Sega Mega Drive II (it was the Sega Genesis to anyone not from the UK). It had some really classic games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Golden Axe (my personal favourite) and Mortal Kombat. Now, you can pick up a brand new (old) system pre-loaded with 80 of the original games. Plus if you get your hands on some retro Sega games then it is also compatible with cartridges which is just awesome. If you need a sense of nostalgia then look no further. Oh and I didn’t even mention that it comes with 2 wireless versions of the original controllers. Sign me up!
