The Nintendo Switch is now less than a week away. It is due for full release on 3rd March. So it is time to look forward to the most anticipated games that will be released on the console in the coming months.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Let’s start off with arguably the most anticipated release game. The first console released Zelda game for 7 years, the last one being skyward sword. You will be able to purchase it on Switch or Wii U (but who actually cares about the Wii U). You will follow the adventures of Link once again in his attempt to quell the evil of the Calamity Ganon. From first appearances the game looks stunning. I love the art style, where most games aim for hyper-realism, the team over at Nintendo just want to make something simple look beautiful, and they have succeeded.
Super Bomberman R
Bomberman has always been my go to casual party game. Most people opt for Mario Kart or Smash Bros but for me it was always Bomberman. It’s a game filled with quick rounds that gets everyone gassed up and is probably the most fun game to play with a few mates and a few beers. The latest title, Super Bomberman R, is one of the release titles for the Switch. It will likely go under the radar a little with Zelda being released at the same time but it will be just as fun to play.
Super Mario Odyssey
Everyone’s favourite Italian plumber is making a return on the Nintendo Switch. Not much is known as of yet but it looks like Mario in GTA 4 without all the violence, foul language, crime, fun. It will likely be one of your typical, run of the mill Mario game. There will be no heavy story lines or game changing mechanics but everyone will have a good time playing it.
1-2 Switch is a collection of fun little part games. It makes use of both halves of the Switch controller and involves lot of fun short party games. I imagine that it will become one of the new Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Bomberman type social games. The one small proviso that I do have is that it looks as though there is a maximum of 2 players, however with the games being over incredibly quickly it may not become an issue.
Relaunched games for the Switch
The two big ones which stand out to me are Human Resource Machine and Skyrim. Human Resource Machine is a game that was originally released on PC in 2015, receiving plaudits from critics and fans alike, and we all know about Skyrim already. Here is my full review on Skyrim Special Edition.
